Although the office doesn't make headlines, it touches and affects your lives in various ways. The office of the Town Clerk is historical in its traditions, having served as a direct link between the residents and their local governments since biblical times. The Town Clerk is responsible for two employees, (one full time and one part time) and an operating budget of approximately $75,000. More importantly,the clerk receives approximately $200,000 in fees from the public each year, which are then distributed to the Town's General Fund, the Washington County Treasurer and various state agencies. Therefore, only a small amount of money is required from our property tax levy to operate the Town Clerk's Office. My goal is to administer the office in a helpful, courteous and efficient manner.
